I was vacationing in the San Juan Islands in Washington state. While on out exploring I came to this oyster farm. The farm allowed for you to dig your own oysters and was prepared to have visitors.
As I wondered around I cam across this old truck. It felt like such a classic scene to me. The old work truck put out to pasture.

Photoshop info:
I used the black and white filter to convert the full color image to this.
Amateur: Color, Architecture and Urban Scenes

Something about the picture
My wife and I were on a vacation that took us through much of Northern California. We made a plan to be in San Francisco on Near Years Eve. We choose Mount TamaIpais as the place where we would view the fireworks from. After an afternoon of scouting out the best location, we returned that evening with some champagne and my camera gear. At midnight the fireworkss went off and I snapped away drinking champagne and listening to Rachmaninov with my wonderful wife.

Photoshop info:
I adjusted the light levels. Otherwise this is how it came out of the camera.

Something about the picture
The body of water in the picture is the Salton Sea in Southern California. This was on the South East end of the lake.

This was one of those pictures that make it so I should have the bumper sticker "I brake for pictures.". I had been in this area to visit the volcanic mud pots and found this one the way.
It was mid afternoon when I came across these trees. The sky was a thin overcast and the day had that heavy humid summer thunderstorm feel to it.
This scene struck me as iconic for the lake. To me it feels like a dead lake and this is sign on the door that says so.

Photoshop info:
I used the black and white filter to convert the color image. I purposely altered the contrast so that the sky would nearly blend into the water and the trees would stand out.
